What would the future look like if people stop making more clothes because of the shortage of materials? This thesis images a future where people wear the same uniform in real life but continue to express themselves through fashion digitally.
Rest in Peace
By 2023, fast fashion - cheap materials that do not last - has taken over the world creating a surplus of pollution. If fashion manufacturing does not change, the waste could end the entire industry.
The War
In 2045, slow fashion has already died yet there are still people who want a sustainable fashion industry. They were the resistance. The resistance started the war against people who supported fast fashion, but they lost the war because of the disparity in numbers.
Naked
In 2078, people have exhausted all their resources and they could not continue to produce more clothes. Clothes disappeared like endangered wildlife. People had to move to warm places in order to survive during winters.
The Uniform
In 2093, the government discovered new resources and created simple uniforms for people. Since the resources were still very limited, these uniforms were pure white and had no design at all. The fashion industry lost its joy. The only hope is to use technology to create a new type of fashion industry.
YOJ is a digital fashion brand that exists in an imagined future in which human do not have enough materials to produce more clothes because of fashion pollution. This video presents a digital solution to bring joy back into the experience of fashion.
