Body Modification and Communication

The human body is a more visceral medium for communication than almost anything else. Body modification serves as a representative for the deconstruction of the human body and humans in order to explore the “cave (Allegory of the Cave)” beings. It can be considered as an explicit expression of human’s deepest desire for everything which is a desire for communication. The thesis explores how the deconstruction and reconstruction of the configurations of human body empowers human beings in the context of individual narratives.

While painting on my body, participants discussed about the individual situation of the new generation influenced by the traditional Chinese family structure.
