Shapelessness

The idea of ‘shapelessness’ is derived from the phrases in Tao Te Ching Chapter 41. ‘The greatest form has no shape. The Tao is hidden and without name.’ Chinese culture is my unique identity and also a source of inspiration. Philosophical Taoism and the use of ink in art are parts of traditional culture. However, art which in traditional forms has already been played thousand times by former artists. As a contemporary artist, I attempt to extract the essence from my own culture, employ it in my work, and redefine it under the modern context. .
