The Annihilation of Time
Yudie Wu
Time is as elusive as it is fundamental. 'Past' 'present' and ' future' for instance, are not directly observable, but are central to how humans parse experience. Objective time could be divided into minutes and seconds; however, subjective time is perceived differently by everyone. People sometimes feel that period is longer or shorter than usual due to many factors. Numerous studies have investigated the estimation of subjective duration. However, limited practical research has been conducted on the subjective duration and the effect of design in which individuals' temporal experiences occur. As a result, this thesis tries to explore how personal experience of time can be employed in design.
