In the age of IoT and social networks, hyper-connectivity has reshaped the ways we communicate and interact. We are promised that the greater computer minds will help humanity explore the untapped potential; instead, the algorithms re-condition human behaviors and reinforce radicalized pessimism, anxieties, and angst, by design. The algorithms are re-engineering humanity as we know it. These systems exploit human psychology and have brought out the worst in us. This thesis aims to explore the anti-human tendencies embedded in the algorithms and shed light on the dark psychology behind the implementation and operation of social algorithms.
