Connectedness in Games
Yichen Wang
Loneliness is an unpleasant emotional response to the lack of connection that commonly occurs in people. In the digital era, while technologies bring about varied ways of connection, they also isolate people from real contact. This thesis tackles situations when people are physically isolated, and unacquainted with others on the internet, by creating positive interactions and further connections among people in a storytelling game.

Plooot comic book
This comic book was created by participants from different places. It went across 3 years, passing 3 phases.
Thesis introduction
To design the game, I chose drawing and writing combined as the formats of storytelling. I expected that players can affect each other, and random thoughts come up while the story goes on. The game was iterated continuously during 3 phases. I cherish the connections among the participants.

Printed Comic book
I printed the comic book in a long strip because it develops like a streamline. The reading experience is directional, but at the same time, unpredictable. It doesn’t rely on logical thinking and reasons to develop. It is more about the feelings when reading.
