Permanently Changing Mosaic

The image of our self-made habitat [and cultural norms are] a permanently changing mosaic. Society seems to project an understanding of what is right and what we think is the ‘norm’ and yet, everything is also invaded and interwoven by a perversion of these conventions. The world is too sanitized and influenced by moral standards of people in power. I think that design has played a role, for better or worse, in shaping perception of what is perverse. Design's desire for order is ignoring the perverse human impulse. I argue that communication design as a field needs to be more perverted.
Remix by Bondage
This project is a visual exploration that incorporates 3d, printing with physical bondage technique, focusing on a visualization of a paragraph from Georges Bataille’s novel Story of the Eye.
For this visual exploration, I am aiming to discover presenting a “perverted” visual by using bondage - a technique often labeled as perversion.
