Age-Specific Anxiety
Chang Jiang
Age-related anxiety is a form of anxiety that specifically affects individuals during a certain age or developmental stage and is caused by the typical challenges and stressors associated with that period of life. This topic has garnered increased attention in recent times, as it can stem from various sources such as fear of getting older, biased perceptions of age, and societal expectations and comparisons. Popular media like books, movies, advertisements, and social media platforms can subconsciously perpetuate age-specific anxiety. This anxiety often lurks in our subconscious and can limit our behavior and decision-making abilities. This program utilizes communication design language to visualize age-specific anxiety in book form, and also employs an experimental installation to increase public awareness about the negative effects of age-specific anxiety.
