Selling Sustainability
Stephanie Lawson
Sustainability is one of the most overused words in the vernacular vocabulary of today. Because of the intensifying climate crisis, demands for more environmentally sound products are rising. A significant number of brands have responded by integrating sustainability into their marketing strategies, but not going beyond this. I wanted to look at how sustainability as a concept was being co-opted and repackaged into a new product. The whole thing is kind of counter-intuitive, and this predicament served as the inspiration for my thesis work.
