Long Distance Intimacy

Intimacy is a basic need for humans as social animals. With the development of technology like smartphones, computers, and artificial intelligence, our ways of relating to others have shifted dramatically. Their diversity and the virtual communities that they create give people more space to express themselves and bring a broader range of communication. People's interactions with multimedia are to some extent influencing their sense of intimacy and changing their attitudes toward intimate relationships at different physical distances.
Our Link Is Untouchable
The physical distance makes us out of reach of each other. As the candle burns, time passes. When we can’t touch each other, we may cry and argue, but perhaps more than anything, we persevere in maintaining our relationship.
This project explores how distance and intimacy are being reconfigured in contemporary through the conceptual analysis of intimacy and the diversity of digital communication technologies.
