Emojovation is a unique and creative thesis research split into two parts; the primary research explores the concept of nonexistent emojis and symbols in digital communication, uncovering their significance in the realms of culture, representation, and self-expression. It thoroughly examines emojis’ history, evolution, and timeline, revealing their transformative journey to become critical in societal discourse. While emojis are crucial in current communication, the absence of specific symbols leaves expressive gaps. The research aims to pinpoint and analyze these missing emojis, considering cultural, technological, and societal factors. By assessing their impact on digital communication, the study illustrates the changing essence of visual language in the digital era. It proposes strategies to fill the void left by these absences.

The 2nd Part of Emojovation is a new initiative that seeks to expand the use of emojis beyond their traditional functions on our digital devices. It consists of two interconnected components. By experimenting creatively, Emojovation envisions a world where emojis become dynamic tools of expression, healing, visualizing, and going beyond the static limitations of our screens. The first component explores emojis’ visual and interactive dimensions by creating tools, workshops, games, and experiments that allow people to draw, experiment, play, communicate, self-represent, and think with emojis. The second component encourages individuals to participate in the emoji revolution by designing their own symbols or emojis currently missing from the available selection. This initiative aims to expand the diversity and inclusivity of emojis, allowing users to express themselves in new and unique ways.
