Monsters have always been fascinating, as they seem to hold deeper meanings beyond their terrifying appearances.
Creating monsters allows us to explore our fears and curiosities, serving as a key to unlocking hidden parts of
ourselves. As society and technology advance, monsters are becoming cautionary tales, reminding us of the consequences
of unchecked progress. Visual communication designers can create functional fiction through future monsters to envision
the world we desire. By creating monsters with emerging technology, we uncover societal fears and desires, gaining
insights to adapt to our complex world and forthcoming technological frontiers. Through monsters, we see ourselves and
the future.
This website is a symphony of chaos and a celebration of our own monsters. It has two layers: the painting layer and the
underpainting layer. The painting layer portrays captured AI monsters living in Bosch’s painting “The Garden of Earthly
Delights”, vividly manifesting our personal desires and fears in this eschatological digital environment. The
underpainting layer reveals the human element within the creative process, showing how these seemingly paradoxical AI
monsters were crafted, as well as the characteristics they were given and the narratives written about them. They embody
the emotions and souls imparted by their creators.
