In response to the growing influence of AI in the illustration industry, I explored how human-AI collaboration can open up new creative directions rather than simply being seen as a threat. While AI-generated art has sparked debates around authorship, ethics, and emotional depth, I believe its true value lies in how artists choose to engage with it. Through case studies and my own creative experiments, I investigated how illustrators can maintain artistic agency while leveraging AI’s strengths in visual storytelling. This approach aims to find a balance—where machines assist, but humans still lead with imagination, emotion, and meaning.
I tried using Runway to make the characters generated by Midjourney speak.

AI animation: The Cage_Storyboard
This animation was created by me and AI. I wrote the first half of the story, and then asked ChatGPT to complete the whole story. Then I asked it to divide the story into storyboards and generate keyframes using Midjourney (using my own illustration as image prompts). Then I asked ChatGPT to analyze the details of the story and write them into prompts to enhance the coherence of the pictures. Finally, I used Runway to generate the animation clips and adjusted them in AE.
