The Computer is in me, and I'm in Nature
Khanh Le
This thesis investigates the role of nature in reorienting and grounding the human self in an increasingly disembodied digital age. Starting from an investigation into human and non-human ecologies, their knowledge and information exchange systems, the project has evolved into an inquiry aimed at nature’s potential to counterbalance the abstraction and alienation often associated with contemporary technologies. Through researches and experiments that explore how digital and natural systems intersect, this work demonstrates that nature is embodied within the human essence, and in our man-made technologies. By “giving away” more agency to nature, both real and represented, humans can, in turn, develop a more grounded and attuned sense of being. It invites a reimagining of ecological intelligence as a framework for navigating and inhabiting digital environments more consciously.
