As Americans continue to live hectic lives, their dependency on delivery food services, such as Blue Apron, continues to grow. The use of non-recyclable and energy-intensive materials in these subscription plans contributes to increases in packaging waste despite the reduction in food waste. By replacing plastic containers and cardboard boxes with a comprehensive and mostly biodegradable packaging system the amount of material waste produced by subscription plans can be dramatically reduced.
