Neighbor Net

Inspired by New York’s culture of “stooping,” citizens would throw their used furniture on the street, and the neighbors would pick them up. I want to build a circular community that promotes sharing everyday items and skills, reducing waste, and building a rigid community with a sustainable mindset. Neighbor Net is an online community that supports New Yorkers in living sustainable lives.

Intro Neighbor Net
Neighbor Net is a circular community that promotes sharing everyday items and skills, reducing waste, and building a sustainable community.
Visual language
Due to the whole platform being a visual-driven system, I apply an AI icon generation tool that unifies visual language and ensures high-quality images for all items on our platform. One unique feature is that we use a location-based catalog instead of the classic time-based linear catalog. This means that the objects and services available to you are shown in the relative direction surrounding you rather than in chronological order. By doing so, you are not restricted by a first-come, first-served system.
Treasure hunting
Treasure Hunting adds a game-like element to the platform by allowing sharists to discover new items through matching and finding feelings, mimicking a virtual treasure hunt to lift up the engagement.
Augmented reality
Augmented reality enhances the user experience and makes it more immersive. Sharists could use AR to see what a piece of furniture would look like in their home before deciding on the object.
Talk to the owner
Once the sharists are satisfied with the object, they can contact the current owner directly and finish one action!
Community
Neighbor net sets a range of community functions to connect sharists with their interest areas.
