Insomnia Toy:The “Monsters” of the Night
This project is to help people improve their sleeping habits. We all know that in the fast-paced and high-pressure life
of modern society, more and more people are troubled by insomnia. And I hope that through this project, I can bring some
warm and healing methods to these people to improve their sleep quality. I personify the six reasons for insomnia into
different characters. Different characters have different personalities and healing methods to help people. These
characters are like people’s partners. Users can interact with these characters to understand their sleep problems more
clearly and guide people over 21 days toward better sleep habits.

Main character design
This is the main character of the whole insomnia toy series. Other characters are based on this one. The main character
is a soft sheep with fluffy, cloud-like hair and sleepy eyes. I design the character to look like a sheep because people
with insomnia like to count sheep to help themselves fall asleep.

Final character design
I designed six characters, Snacky, Pixelis, Anxietisse, Decibelle, Lumenelle and Chronori, according to the six reasons
of insomnia: Bad Eating Habits, Electronic products, Anxiety/Stress, Noise, Light and Biological clock. These six
characters have different characteristics, personalities and functions.

Final character + Final package
I use different colored packaging to show different characters, so people can choose the character according to the
reason of their insomnia.

Whole package
This is this whole box, and I also incorporated cloud elements into it.

Companion Kit
The package includes a character and a small book. This small book is about the reasons for insomnia and methods to
solve insomnia. Also, it helps people develop habits.

Book
For example, this is a booklet about electronic products. It introduces the reason of insomnia and how to stay away from
mobile phones. This book tells users to put down their phones before going to bed, dim the lights, read books, and
meditate to help them sleep.

QR coded in the book
There is also QR code in the book that users can scan to get meditation instructions and music.
